We've Moved!

... well, not literally.
But today our Reece's Rainbow family profile moved from "Home Study in Progress" to "Compiling Dossier".  This is one more step in our journey to EE.

Since we now have a 'completed' date on our HS, we can get our first packet of documents notarized.  The HS and notarized documents will then head to Madison for Apostilling.  Additionally, we can start to file our paperwork with US Immigration.  Once they receive our application and review it, we will be assigned a date for our biometrics (digital fingerprinting).

Oh, and on a side note, our Just Love Coffee that I ordered last Wednesday arrived today.  That's probably a good thing because now we're into the biggest phase of this journey-- compiling the bulk of our dossier.  I may need the caffeine!

  2. Never!!! The adoption tax credit is ridiculous!!! The $$ wasted on will now be put towards support programs for US foster kid.

You wanna buy a foreign kid? Go for it....but save up the $$$ and buy him yourself!!!

  3. In response to Kaylee Lee:

In an ideal world, no one would be barren. In an ideal world, an unexpected pregnancy wouldn't be a nuisance or an inconvenience. In an ideal world, a child with Down syndrome wouldn't face a lifetime of isolation in an orphanage. In an ideal world, the investment to bring a child into your home shouldn't rival a home mortgage. In an ideal world, the Son of God wouldn't be born as a baby in order to die as a sacrifice for my imperfections.

But, until the day that Heaven comes to earth, I am tasked to bring heaven to the hell that thousands of "unwanted" and "imperfect" children live in every day, and to do for "the least of these" what Jesus did for me.

He loved the unlovely and it cost Him everything.
